Summary Our Instructional Designers (IDs) are responsible for learning content development that is sound and meets company regulatory requirements. IDs work collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Stakeholders (SHs) to identify learning needs. IDs create high-quality, engaging learning experiences that are based on cognitive science and mastery-level learning principles while adhering to industry best practices. The ID is also responsible for testing training materials, course troubleshooting, and continuous evaluations. Minimum Requirements Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check. Education Details: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Years of Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience in training development, including developing computer-based training materials through course authoring software such as Articulate and utilizing training development/graphic design software including Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Character Animator, Animate, Audition, etc.), Synthesia, and Vyond. • Exceptional writing and communication skills. • Experience creating instructional content by drawing on instructional design models and best practices. Preferred Requirements • Master’s Degree in related field. Job Duties • Conducts intake meetings and Needs Analysis of assigned courses. Advises stakeholder(s) on appropriate content delivery methods based on ID principles. • Ensures course objectives match course assessments. Makes sure course length and content are appropriate for the audience demographic. Uses media elements that are appropriate for course audience and subject matter. Includes interactivity as appropriate to engage the learner. • All course aspects function properly: buttons, menus, triggers, completions. ID offers solutions on improved functionality to their Ops manager to improve learner experience. • Initiates validation of course distribution plan with stakeholder(s). Communicates with the Allegiant University AUIS team for course distribution and testing. Properly updates AUIS distribution and testing tickets. • Evaluates courses to ensure course goals and business goals are met. Uses evaluation methods to determine appropriate learning levels are met. • Collaborates with and trains Instructional Designers from other departments. • Adheres to and enhances department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). • Models Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing direction. • Other duties as assigned. Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
