Summary The Fuel Accounting Manager is responsible for all the business and accounting functions involved within the Fuel Accounting Department as well as the Stations Accounting Team. This position is responsible for reporting the Company’s fuel expense; ensuring fuel inventory, fuel prepaid, stations accruals, stations expense and related general ledger account balances are properly stated. Supervises monthly-close processes and the preparation of internal and external reports. Visa Sponsorship Available No Minimum Requirements Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check. Education:  Bachelor’s Degree Education Details:  In related field. Years of Experience:  Minimum five (5) years of accounting experience. •Strong accounting background. •In depth knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("US GAAP"). •Experience with Financial Process Controls. •Proven analytical and creative problem-solving skills. •Proven ability with accuracy and attention to detail •Ability to handle multiple and competing tasks simultaneously and work closely with various departments and team members. Preferred Requirements •CPA. Job Duties •Oversee month-end close activities including data validation, journal entry preparation and review. •Review of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure outstanding issues are resolved timely. •Oversee the fuel and stations accounting team ensuring deadlines are met timely and assisting with the resolution of issues, while providing feedback and coaching to the team to provide a high-performance culture.  •Develop and implement changes and improvements to existing policy, procedures, and internal controls to improve fuel and stations accounting process. •Responsible for maintaining compliance with Sarbanes Oxley by writing, reviewing, and participating in the audit of SOX narratives as well as ensuring that the fuel and stations accounting teams are following approved procedures. •Ability to identify procedural and internal control weaknesses, and suggest and implement solutions. •Represent the fuel and stations accounting team on organizational project teams that involve 3rd party systems initiatives and internal development initiatives. •Assist with the yearly financial audit by ensuring that all requested data is provided timely. •Oversee the preparation and review of required government, internal and external reports. •Respond to ad-hoc data requests and inquiries from management and other departments. •Assist in performing fuel price and consumption analytics as required.  •Ensure any direct reports understand and apply our Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities as appropriate. •Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction. •Other duties as assigned. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
