Accounting Manager

Summary The Accounting Manager is responsible for various business and accounting functions involved within the Accounting Department. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate reporting of the company’s financial statements and development of team members.  Visa Sponsorship Available No Minimum Requirements Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Education:  Bachelor’s Degree Education Details:  Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other related field. Years of Experience:  Minimum five (5) years of related experience, plus Supervisory experience •Thorough knowledge of GAAP. •Strong excel skills. •SAP experience. Preferred Requirements •CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA certification. Job Duties •Review of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure outstanding issues are resolved timely. •Oversee month-end close activities including data validation, journal entry preparation and review. •Supervise the invoice processing functions, which may include general payables, maintenance, fuel and/or stations. •Develop and implement changes and improvements to existing policy, procedures, and internal controls to improve accounting process. •Responsible for maintaining compliance with Sarbanes Oxley by writing, reviewing, and participating in the audit of SOX narratives as well as ensuring that the accounting teams are following approved procedures. •Represent the accounting team on organizational project teams that involve third party systems initiatives and internal development initiatives. •Assist with the yearly financial audit by ensuring that all requested data is provided timely. •Respond to ad-hoc data requests and inquiries from management and other departments. •Ensure any direct reports understand and apply our Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities as appropriate. •Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction. •Other duties as assigned. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
